Jinsuo Yuguan is an important school in traditional Chinese Feng Shui, belonging to the "Luantou School" (formal school), known for its simplicity, practicality, and accurate judgment, and is known as the "passing Yin and Yang". The following is a detailed introduction:

Origin of the name: "Jinsuo Yuguan" means that the theory of this school is passed down from master to master, usually placed in a jade box, locked with a golden lock, and kept secret. The Feng Shui master of this school does not use a compass, but only needs to observe around the house or ancestral tomb to judge the rise and fall, good and bad fortune of the six relatives, so it is also called "passing Yin and Yang", and enjoys the reputation of "Southern Master" and "Kuizi who knows treasures".

Historical origin: Its theory is derived from the Xiantian River Map and the Houtian Luoshu, emphasizing that the innate is the body and the acquired is the use. Legend has it that the theory of Jinsuo Yuguan originated from the "Tiangang Jue" written by Guo Pu, a scholar and ancestor of geomancy in the Jin Dynasty. It was later sorted out by Qiu Yanhan in the Tang Dynasty and passed on to Yang Yunsong. It was banned by the government and spread among the people in the late Tang Dynasty. In modern times, Qi Hongfei (pen name Qi Hongfei) and Li Xiangsheng are recognized as the ancestors, and the scriptures began to circulate in the world in 1997.

Core theory: Based on the numerology of Heluo and the Eight Diagrams of the Pre-Heaven and Post-Heaven, it is believed that the balance of yin and yang and the proper use of sand and water are the key to Feng Shui. Specifically, if the four directions of Kan (north), Xun (southeast), Kun (southwest), and Zhen (east) are sand, it is auspicious; if the four directions of Qian (northwest), Gen (northeast), Dui (west), and Li (south) are water, it is auspicious, otherwise it is ominous. "Sand" refers to tall, static objects, such as hills and tall buildings, which are yang; "water" refers to low-lying, flowing objects, such as rivers and roads, which are yin.

Judgment method: Feng Shui masters infer good and bad fortune by observing the distribution of sand and water around the house or ancestral tomb. For example, water in the north may cause children to suffer from many diseases and lose wealth; sand in the northwest may affect the health or official career of the old father.

Development status: Since the Golden Lock and Jade Gate scripture was handed down in 1997, it has been widely praised by the society for its accurate judgment and effective resolution, and many people have studied and applied this system. However, there are also some controversies. Some scholars believe that the scripture has obvious modern characteristics and may have been written after the Republic of China. In addition, in the modern urban environment, the traditional sand and water standards need to be flexibly adjusted.
